The name change…
Most people knew me as Jackie, though professionally I reclaimed my birth name, Jacqueline before starting my practice. Yet deep down, neither ever fully felt like mine.
About five years ago, I had a quiet knowing that my name would one day change. I imagined it might come through ceremony or from a teacher, but instead, it arrived through something far more intimate: resonance.
A few months ago, the name Jaya found me — not through logic, but through sensation. Through sound. Through the feeling it awakened in my body.
I began using it quietly at first, then slowly with close friends and loved ones, whose warmth and openness helped me step into this new chapter with trust and tenderness.
Jaya (JAY-uh) is now the name I go by personally and creatively, while Jacqueline remains the name I continue to use professionally as an Acupuncturist.
This transition has become part of my path of self-discovery — a softening into authenticity, embodiment, and becoming.
For the first time in my life, my name feels less like something I wear and more like a mirror reflecting who I am becoming.
Warmly,
Jaya (JAY-uh)
